Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Utilities, Chemicals and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 gained 2.81%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Exor (MILAN:EXOR), which rose 5.21% or 1.93 points to trade at 38.98 at the close. Meanwhile, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (MILAN:FCHA) added 4.78% or 0.5300 points to end at 11.6100 and STMicroelectronics (MILAN:STM) was up 4.64% or 0.270 points to 6.090 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tenaris (MILAN:TENR), which fell 1.29% or 0.1400 points to trade at 10.7300 at the close. Ansaldo STS (MILAN:STS) declined 0.11% or 0.01 points to end at 9.48 and World Duty Free SpA (MILAN:WDF) was down 0.10% or 0.010 points to 10.230.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 328 to 112 and 3 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.27% or 0.12 to $45.35 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.63% or 0.30 to hit $48.53 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 1.06% or 12.00 to trade at $1114.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.64% to 1.1177, while EUR/GBP fell 0.51% to 0.7388.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.40% at 96.44.
