Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Telecoms, Consumer Goods and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 0.19%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Ageas (BR:AGES), which rose 2.03% or 0.720 points to trade at 36.275 at the close. UCB (BR:UCB) added 1.42% or 0.86 points to end at 61.59 and Ackermans V.Haaren (BR:ACKB) was up 1.01% or 1.50 points to 150.15 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ING Groep NV (AS:INGA), which lost 0.53% or 0.080 points to trade at 15.120 in late trade. KBC (BR:KBC) declined 0.51% or 0.340 points to end at 66.070 and Proximus NV (BR:PROX) shed 0.49% or 0.16 points to 32.65.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 57 to 54 and 11 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.11% or 1.44 to $1266.66 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.72% or 0.36 to hit $50.16 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.59% or 0.31 to trade at $52.82 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.01% to 1.1180, while EUR/GBP fell 0.34% to 0.8702.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 97.28.
