Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Transport, Banking and Leasing & Factoring sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 1.12%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Dogus Otomotiv Servis ve Ticaret AS (IS:DOAS), which rose 4.15% or 0.38 points to trade at 9.54 at the close. Ege Endustri ve Ticaret AS (IS:EGEEN) added 3.24% or 8.20 points to end at 261.30 and Turkiye Sise ve Cam Fabrikalari AS (IS:SISE) was up 3.10% or 0.140 points to 4.660 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pegasus Hava Tasimaciligi AS (IS:PGSUS), which lost 5.50% or 0.960 points to trade at 16.490 in late trade. Gubre Fabrikalari TAS (IS:GUBRF) declined 5.03% or 0.26 points to end at 4.91 and Nurol Gayrimenkul Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:NUGYO) shed 4.59% or 0.210 points to 4.370.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 266 to 96 and 41 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.42% or 5.14 to $1224.04 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 1.42% or 0.67 to hit $48.00 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 1.41% or 0.71 to trade at $50.93 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.21% to 3.5793, while EUR/TRY fell 0.13% to 3.8944.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.03% at 99.47.
