Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Real Estate & Construction, Finance & Investment and Transport sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General rose 1.99% to hit a new 3-month high, while the ADX General index gained 1.77%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were Arabtec Holding PJSC (DU:ARTC), which rose 14.29% or 0.180 points to trade at 1.440 at the close. SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA) added 11.64% or 0.049 points to end at 0.470 and Dubai Financial Market PJSC (DU:DFM) was up 7.81% or 0.100 points to 1.380 in late trade.
Biggest losers included AJMAN BANK PJSC (DU:AJBNK), which lost 4.74% or 0.110 points to trade at 2.210 in late trade. Commercial Bank of Dubai P.S.C. (DU:CBD) declined 3.13% or 0.150 points to end at 4.650 and Takaful House (DU:DTKF) shed 2.04% or 0.010 points to 0.480.
The top performers on the ADX General were Eshraq Properties Co PJSC (AD:ESHR) which rose 5.48% to 0.7700, Al Khazna Ins (AD:AKIC) which was up 3.57% to settle at 0.290 and First Gulf Bk (AD:FGB) which gained 3.24% to close at 12.75.
The worst performers were Int Fish Farmi (AD:ASMK) which was down 9.88% to 6.57 in late trade, Ad Shipbldg Co (AD:ADSB) which lost 5.92% to settle at 2.86 and Invest Bank AD (AD:INVB) which was down 4.65% to 1.64 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 20 to 9 and 1 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 15 rose and 12 declined, while 4 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was down 0.46% or 0.15 to $32.63 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May rose 0.08% or 0.03 to hit $35.47 a barrel, while the April Gold contract rose 1.19% or 14.50 to trade at $1234.90 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was up 0.00% to 3.6731, while EUR/AED fell 0.33% to 4.0033.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.13% at 98.26.
