Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Telecoms, Utilities and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 rose 0.58% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Saipem (MILAN:SPMI), which rose 2.93% or 0.2550 points to trade at 8.9500 at the close. Meanwhile, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (MILAN:FCHA) added 2.60% or 0.3500 points to end at 13.8100 and Tod'S (MILAN:TOD) was up 2.59% or 2.05 points to 81.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Mediaset (MILAN:MS), which fell 4.10% or 0.192 points to trade at 4.492 at the close. Autogrill (MILAN:AGL) declined 3.18% or 0.27 points to end at 8.22 and Yoox Net-A-Porter Group SpA (MILAN:YNAP) was down 2.95% or 0.90 points to 29.60.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 248 to 192 and 1 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.85% or 0.42 to $49.85 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.20% or 0.10 to hit $52.95 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 1.26% or 14.40 to trade at $1158.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.90% to 1.1378, while EUR/GBP rose 1.11% to 0.7428.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.61% at 94.82.
