Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Technology Hardware & Equipment and Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 0.20% to hit a new 6-months low.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Unibail Rodamco SE (AMS:UNBP), which rose 1.79% or 3.95 points to trade at 225.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Randstad (AMS:RAND) added 1.69% or 0.89 points to end at 53.40 and Heineken (AMS:HEIN) was up 0.78% or 0.56 points to 72.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Altice NV (AMS:ATCA), which fell 5.50% or 1.25 points to trade at 21.41 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (AMS:ISPA) declined 3.53% or 0.19 points to end at 5.27 and ASML Holding (AMS:ASML) was down 2.84% or 2.20 points to 75.40.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 89 to 85 and 4 ended unchanged.
Shares in ArcelorMittal SA (AMS:ISPA) fell to 5-year lows; falling 3.53% or 0.19 to 5.27.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 3.21% to 29.89.
Crude oil for November delivery was down 2.80% or 1.30 to $45.06 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 1.54% or 0.76 to hit $48.33 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.56% or 6.30 to trade at $1131.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.46% to 1.1179, while EUR/GBP rose 1.25% to 0.7330.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.12% at 96.38.
