Investing.com – Peru equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Mining, Industrials and Electricity sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General declined 0.80%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Panoro (LM:PML), which rose 5.63% or 0.008 points to trade at 0.150 at the close. Empresa Agroindustrial Pomalca (LM:POM) added 1.21% or 0.002 points to end at 0.168 and Trevali Mining (LM:TV) was up 1.04% or 0.010 points to 0.970 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi), which lost 3.57% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.540 in late trade. Southern Copper Corp (LM:SPC) declined 3.07% or 1.18 points to end at 37.26 and Buenaventura (LM:BVN) shed 2.39% or 0.340 points to 13.860.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 18 to 10 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was up 1.45% or 0.76 to $53.10 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 1.05% or 0.58 to hit $55.70 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.59% or 7.35 to trade at $1232.15 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was down 0.50% to 3.2675, while EUR/PEN fell 0.68% to 3.4920.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.48% at 100.62.
