Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Financials, Electric Power and Public Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa rose 1.94%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were ALL America Latina Logistica SA (SA:RUMO3), which rose 5.95% or 0.44 points to trade at 7.84 at the close. Meanwhile, EcoRodovias SA (SA:ECOR3) added 5.47% or 0.35 points to end at 6.75 and Cosan SA Industria e Comercio (SA:CSAN3) was up 5.08% or 0.90 points to 18.60 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Oi SA (SA:OIBR4), which fell 2.56% or 0.07 points to trade at 2.66 at the close. Hypermarcas SA (SA:HYPE3) declined 2.10% or 0.34 points to end at 15.85 and Usinas Siderurgicas de Minas Gerais (SA:USIM5) was down 1.54% or 0.05 points to 3.20.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange by 208 to 96 and 5 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 1.44% to 52.88.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.79% or 8.90 to $1124.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.29% or 0.59 to hit $46.84 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract rose 0.91% or 1.07 to trade at $119.65 .
USD/BRL was down 0.39% to 3.7459, while EUR/BRL fell 1.16% to 4.1694.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.47% at 96.33.
