Investing.com – Sweden equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Technology and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Stockholm, the OMX Stockholm 30 gained 1.90%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Stockholm 30 were SSAB AB ser. A (ST:SSABa), which rose 8.55% or 2.60 points to trade at 33.00 at the close. Boliden AB (ST:BOL) added 4.86% or 6.30 points to end at 135.80 and Svenska Handelsbanken ser. A (ST:SHBa) was up 3.98% or 4.0 points to 104.5 in late trade.
Biggest losers included TeliaSonera AB (ST:TLSN), which lost 4.74% or 1.98 points to trade at 39.77 in late trade. Fingerprint Cards AB ser. B (ST:FINGb) declined 4.06% or 22.00 points to end at 520.00 and Securitas AB ser. B (ST:SECUb) shed 0.59% or 0.80 points to 133.70.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 359 to 182 and 62 ended unchanged on the Stockholm Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was up 0.05% or 0.02 to $42.19 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 0.11% or 0.05 to hit $44.64 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 1.08% or 13.60 to trade at $1247.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/SEK was down 0.19% to 9.1855, while USD/SEK rose 0.74% to 8.1442.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.78% at 94.75.
