Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Financials, Real Estate and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 1.45% to hit a new 3-months low.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Altice SA (AMS:ATCE), which rose 0.40% or 0.50 points to trade at 124.40 at the close. Meanwhile, TNT Express (AMS:TNTE) added 0.20% or 0.015 points to end at 7.660 and Relx NV (AMS:RELX) was unchanged 0.00% or 0.000 points to 13.895 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Arcelormittal (AMS:ISPA), which fell 3.17% or 0.28 points to trade at 8.43 at the close. ING Groep (AMS:ING) declined 3.13% or 0.465 points to end at 14.385 and KPN Kon (AMS:KPN) was down 2.76% or 0.093 points to 3.280.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 184 to 32.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 6.72% to 26.38.
Crude oil for August delivery was down 2.83% or 1.57 to $53.95 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 3.52% or 2.12 to hit $58.20 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.09% or 1.10 to trade at $1166.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.27% to 1.1081, while EUR/GBP fell 0.65% to 0.7094.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.11% at 96.27.
