Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Consumer Services and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.69%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Nos SGPS SA (LISBON:NOS), which rose 5.04% or 0.3790 points to trade at 7.9000 at the close. Meanwhile, Galp Energia Nom (LISBON:GALP) added 2.57% or 0.2650 points to end at 10.5700 and Semapa (LISBON:SEM) was up 1.87% or 0.2275 points to 12.3975 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banif SA (LISBON:BANIF), which fell 1.59% or 0.0001 points to trade at 0.0062 at the close. Banco Comercial Portugues (LISBON:BCP) declined 1.39% or 0.0010 points to end at 0.0710 and EDP (LISBON:EDP) was down 0.97% or 0.0340 points to 3.4890.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 39 to 28 and 3 ended unchanged.
Shares in Nos SGPS SA (LISBON:NOS) rose to 5-year highs; up 5.04% or 0.3790 to 7.9000.
Brent oil for September delivery was up 0.87% or 0.47 to $53.77 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 2.31% or 1.11 to hit $49.09 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.15% or 1.60 to trade at $1095.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.30% to 1.1026, while EUR/GBP fell 0.35% to 0.7058.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.19% at 96.94.
