Investing.com – Peru stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Mining, Banking & Financials and Non-Metal Minerals sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General declined 0.60%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi), which rose 1.70% or 0.005 points to trade at 0.300 at the close. Meanwhile, Ferreyros (LM:FER) added 1.54% or 0.020 points to end at 1.320 and Atacocha (LM:ATB) was up 0.97% or 0.001 points to 0.104 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Buenaventura (LM:BVN), which fell 6.71% or 0.330 points to trade at 4.590 at the close. Panoro (LM:PML) declined 5.00% or 0.005 points to end at 0.095 and Relapasa (LM:REL) was down 4.00% or 0.005 points to 0.120.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lima Stock Exchange by 11 to 6 and 13 ended unchanged.
Shares in Relapasa (LM:REL) fell to all time lows; losing 4.00% or 0.005 to 0.120.
Crude oil for January delivery was down 5.79% or 2.31 to $37.66 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 5.27% or 2.27 to hit $40.73 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 1.19% or 12.90 to trade at $1071.20 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.19% to 3.3720, while EUR/PEN fell 0.60% to 3.6396.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.47% at 98.73.
