Investing.com – Finland stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Utilities, Technology and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 added 0.57% to hit a new 3-months high.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Valmt (HE:VALMT), which rose 4.23% or 0.39 points to trade at 9.62 at the close. Meanwhile, Fortum Oyj (HE:FUM1V) added 2.24% or 0.31 points to end at 14.16 and Kemira Oyj (HE:KRA1V) was up 1.67% or 0.19 points to 11.57 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V), which fell 3.24% or 0.132 points to trade at 3.946 at the close. Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V) declined 2.14% or 0.0620 points to end at 2.8400 and Metso Oyj (HE:MEO1V) was down 1.07% or 0.25 points to 23.18.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 107 to 80 and 3 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for January delivery was down 2.91% or 1.29 to $43.15 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 3.49% or 1.46 to hit $40.39 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 1.23% or 13.10 to trade at $1050.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.66% to 1.0564, while EUR/GBP rose 0.43% to 0.7081.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.57% at 100.44.
