Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Banking and Energy sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 gained 1.67%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Eurocash SA (WA:EUR), which rose 7.30% or 2.64 points to trade at 38.81 at the close. Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN) added 4.50% or 0.24 points to end at 5.57 and PKO Bank Polski SA (WA:PKO) was up 3.15% or 0.85 points to 27.87 in late trade.
Biggest losers included LPP SA (WA:LPPP), which lost 1.21% or 69.65 points to trade at 5710.00 in late trade. PKP Cargo (WA:PKPP) declined 1.06% or 0.50 points to end at 46.50 and Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR) shed 0.95% or 0.49 points to 51.32.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 293 to 251 and 180 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was down 0.04% or 0.02 to $52.81 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 0.05% or 0.03 to hit $55.66 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.68% or 7.95 to trade at $1157.85 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.31% to 4.4384, while USD/PLN fell 0.21% to 4.1775.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.07% at 101.07.
