Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Technology, Consumer Goods and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 0.55% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were ASML Holding (AS:ASML), which rose 3.28% or 3.35 points to trade at 105.35 at the close. Unilever NV (AS:UNc) added 1.75% or 0.67 points to end at 38.94 and Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP) was up 1.71% or 3.70 points to 220.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA), which lost 4.65% or 0.347 points to trade at 7.110 in late trade. NN Group (AS:NN) declined 1.47% or 0.47 points to end at 31.25 and Altice NV (AS:ATCA) shed 1.14% or 0.21 points to 18.68.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 73 to 51 and 16 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 2.03% to 13.60.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was up 0.45% or 0.24 to $53.19 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 0.07% or 0.04 to hit $55.17 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.37% or 4.25 to trade at $1141.65 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.10% to 1.0440, while EUR/GBP rose 0.54% to 0.8411.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.15% at 102.77.
