Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Energy, Banking and Oil & Gas sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 declined 0.94%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP), which rose 4.61% or 4.14 points to trade at 93.85 at the close. Meanwhile, Lubelski Wegiel Bogdanka SA (WA:LWBP) added 4.55% or 2.30 points to end at 52.80 and Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR) was up 2.59% or 2.25 points to 89.25 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (WA:PGE), which fell 3.31% or 0.55 points to trade at 16.05 at the close. Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE) declined 3.20% or 0.11 points to end at 3.33 and PKO Bank Polski SA (WA:PKO) was down 2.78% or 0.80 points to 27.95.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 287 to 247 and 127 ended unchanged.
Shares in PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (WA:PGE) fell to 52-week lows; losing 3.31% or 0.55 to 16.05. Shares in Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE) fell to all time lows; falling 3.20% or 0.11 to 3.33.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.64% or 0.27 to $42.50 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.74% or 0.36 to hit $49.27 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.26% or 2.90 to trade at $1112.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.19% to 4.1863, while USD/PLN rose 0.58% to 3.7686.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.27% at 96.62.
