Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Oil, Gas & Electricity, Other Electronic and Semiconductor sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted added 0.60%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Via Tech (TW:2388), which rose 9.98% or 0.63 points to trade at 6.94 at the close. Meanwhile, Fulgent Sun (TW:9802) added 9.96% or 5.00 points to end at 55.20 and Abnova (TW:4133) was up 9.93% or 2.90 points to 32.10 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Largan Precisi (TW:3008), which fell 6.23% or 170.00 points to trade at 2560.00 at the close. Casetek (TW:5264) declined 5.08% or 7.50 points to end at 140.00 and Radium Life Te (TW:2547) was down 4.82% or 0.55 points to 10.85.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 477 to 362 and 4 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.57% or 0.26 to $44.97 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.47% or 0.23 to hit $48.01 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.28% or 3.20 to trade at $1123.60 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 1.10% to 32.920, while TWD/CNY fell 0.36% to 0.1925.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.14% at 96.19.
