Investing.com – Finland stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Basic Materials and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 added 0.74%.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were UPM-Kymmene Oyj (HE:UPM1V), which rose 2.54% or 0.41 points to trade at 16.56 at the close. Meanwhile, Nokian Renkaat Oyj (HE:NRE1V) added 2.52% or 0.72 points to end at 29.32 and Neste Oil Oyj (HE:NESTE) was up 1.85% or 0.49 points to 26.99 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Orion Oyj B (HE:ORNBV), which fell 2.54% or 0.77 points to trade at 29.49 at the close. Konecranes Oyj (HE:KCR1V) declined 1.06% or 0.22 points to end at 20.58 and Kemira Oyj (HE:KRA1V) was down 0.88% or 0.09 points to 10.13.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 110 to 74 and 2 ended unchanged.
Shares in Konecranes Oyj (HE:KCR1V) fell to 52-week lows; down 1.06% or 0.22 to 20.58.
Brent oil for March delivery was down 6.03% or 2.04 to $31.89 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 5.28% or 1.75 to hit $31.41 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.10% or 1.10 to trade at $1099.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.32% to 1.0891, while EUR/GBP fell 0.55% to 0.7482.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.22% at 98.67.
