Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Manufacturing and Mining sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX added 0.73% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the MICEX were Lenta Ltd (MCX:LNTA), which rose 4.20% or 18 points to trade at 447 at the close. Meanwhile, Tatneft-3 (MCX:TATN) added 4.00% or 13.05 points to end at 339.55 and MVideo (MCX:MVID) was up 3.96% or 9.90 points to 259.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Inter rao ees (MCX:IRAO), which fell 3.60% or 0.0500 points to trade at 1.3400 at the close. Akron (MCX:AKRN) declined 2.94% or 108.0 points to end at 3571.0 and Trubnaya Metallurgicheskaya Kompaniya OAO (MCX:TRMK) was down 2.67% or 1.45 points to 52.90.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 129 to 96 and 10 ended unchanged.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 0.17% to 41.130.
Gold for February delivery was up 0.10% or 1.10 to $1116.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.92% or 0.30 to hit $33.52 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 2.66% or 0.93 to trade at $35.73 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.75% to 75.855, while EUR/RUB fell 2.61% to 81.864.
The US Dollar Index was up 1.08% at 99.69.
