Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Financials and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 1.98%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Teixeira Duarte (LS:TDSA), which unchanged 0.00% or 0.0000 points to trade at 0.2900 at the close. Meanwhile, Semapa (LS:SEM) fell 0.18% or 0.0200 points to end at 11.1100 and Sonae (LS:YSO) was down 0.68% or 0.0070 points to 1.0280 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which fell 4.20% or 0.0100 points to trade at 0.2280 at the close. Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) declined 3.63% or 0.0014 points to end at 0.0372 and Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) was down 3.43% or 0.1300 points to 3.6600.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 39 to 7 and 7 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for April delivery was down 2.86% or 0.98 to $33.26 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 3.91% or 1.24 to hit $30.39 a barrel, while the April Gold contract fell 0.27% or 3.10 to trade at $1124.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.12% to 1.0901, while EUR/GBP rose 0.27% to 0.7564.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.06% at 98.99.
