Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Telecoms and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 0.63%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD), which rose 3.67% or 0.74 points to trade at 21.05 at the close. Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR) added 2.40% or 1.20 points to end at 50.92 and bpost NV (BR:BPOST) was up 1.74% or 0.42 points to 24.51 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ING Groep NV (AS:INGA), which lost 1.70% or 0.185 points to trade at 10.695 in late trade. Cofinimmo-Sicafi (BR:COFB) declined 1.49% or 1.65 points to end at 109.05 and Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) shed 0.62% or 0.09 points to 13.60.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 91 to 58 and 10 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 2.66% or 34.95 to $1277.75 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.12% or 0.06 to hit $48.87 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.41% or 0.21 to trade at $51.10 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.21% to 1.1188, while EUR/GBP rose 0.58% to 0.8785.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.54% at 96.17.
