Investing.com – Philippines equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Holding Firms, Banking & Financials and Mining & Oil sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite fell 0.53%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were International Container Terminal Services Inc (PS:ICT), which rose 2.30% or 1.750 points to trade at 77.850 at the close. Emperador Inc (PS:EMP) added 1.90% or 0.140 points to end at 7.490 and Jollibee Foods Corp (PS:JFC) was up 1.54% or 3.800 points to 250.800 in late trade.
Biggest losers included GT Capital Holdings Inc (PS:GTCAP), which lost 3.31% or 47.000 points to trade at 1373.000 in late trade. LT Group Inc (PS:LTG) declined 2.19% or 0.340 points to end at 15.160 and Metropolitan Bank and Trust Co (PS:MBT) shed 2.07% or 1.80 points to 85.15.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 93 to 73 and 57 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.15% or 1.85 to $1265.85 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.16% or 0.08 to hit $50.93 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.33% or 0.17 to trade at $51.95 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was down 0.20% to 7.1155, while USD/PHP fell 0.13% to 48.169.
The US Dollar Index was unchanged 0.00% at 98.62.
