Investing.com – Norway equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Telecoms, Materials and Food, Beverages & Tobacco sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX added 1.72%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Seadrill Limited (OL:SDRL), which rose 4.22% or 1.1 points to trade at 27.9 at the close. Norsk Hydro ASA (OL:NHY) added 4.19% or 1.27 points to end at 31.59 and Akastor ASA (OL:AKAS) was up 3.34% or 0.3 points to 9.6 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Golden Ocean Group Ltd (OL:GOGLT), which lost 3.91% or 0.23 points to trade at 5.72 in late trade. Bw Lpg (OL:BWLPG) declined 3.85% or 1.22 points to end at 30.46 and REC Silicon ASA (OL:REC) shed 3.64% or 0.05 points to 1.43.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 118 to 61 and 15 ended unchanged on the Oslo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.21% or 0.10 to $48.43 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.24% or 0.12 to hit $49.83 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 1.34% or 17.65 to trade at $1338.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was down 0.07% to 9.2836, while USD/NOK fell 0.47% to 8.3256.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.34% at 95.62.
