Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Healthcare, Financials and Banking sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite added 2.91% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr), which rose 16.56% or 0.026 points to trade at 0.183 at the close. Hygeia (AT:HYGr) added 9.49% or 0.015 points to end at 0.173 and Alpha Bank SA (AT:ACBr) was up 7.56% or 0.180 points to 2.560 in late trade.
Biggest losers included A.S. Company (AT:ASCr), which lost 6.86% or 0.024 points to trade at 0.326 in late trade. Reds (AT:CAMr) declined 4.40% or 0.015 points to end at 0.326 and Kri-Kri Milk (AT:KRIr) shed 1.71% or 0.03 points to 1.71.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 71 to 31 and 17 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was down 0.12% or 1.45 to $1253.35 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.31% or 0.15 to hit $48.52 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.39% or 0.19 to trade at $48.62 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.08% to 1.1211, while EUR/GBP rose 0.72% to 0.7723.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.12% at 95.41.
