Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology, Financials and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 added 0.71% to hit a new 6-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Nordea Bank AB (publ) FDR (HE:NDA1V), which rose 3.55% or 0.275 points to trade at 8.030 at the close. Konecranes Oyj (HE:KCR1V) added 2.45% or 0.54 points to end at 22.61 and Stora Enso Oyj R (HE:STERV) was up 2.30% or 0.180 points to 7.995 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Wartsila Oyj Abp (HE:WRT1V), which lost 5.42% or 2.13 points to trade at 37.19 in late trade. Telia Company AB (HE:TELIA1) declined 4.00% or 0.172 points to end at 4.130 and Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V) shed 2.38% or 0.114 points to 4.684.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 91 to 39 and 18 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for September delivery was up 1.33% or 0.62 to $47.28 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.95% or 0.43 to hit $45.88 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 1.04% or 13.85 to trade at $1318.45 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.15% to 1.1004, while EUR/GBP fell 0.65% to 0.8352.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.14% at 97.20.
