Investing.com – Brazil equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Real Estate, Basic Materials and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa added 0.26%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Bradespar SA (SA:BRAP4), which rose 4.47% or 0.93 points to trade at 21.73 at the close. JBS SA (SA:JBSS3) added 3.61% or 0.43 points to end at 12.33 and Localiza Rent a Car SA (SA:RENT3) was up 2.77% or 1.02 points to 37.87 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Klabin Unt (SA:KLBN11), which lost 4.19% or 0.68 points to trade at 15.56 in late trade. Qualicorp SA (SA:QUAL3) declined 3.59% or 0.74 points to end at 19.87 and Raia Drogasil SA (SA:RADL3) shed 3.44% or 2.25 points to 63.25.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 188 to 185 and 33 ended unchanged on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 3.50% to 30.31.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.12% or 1.45 to $1209.95 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 1.34% or 0.71 to hit $53.52 a barrel, while the March US coffee C contract rose 0.38% or 0.57 to trade at $150.12 .
USD/BRL was down 0.67% to 3.1297, while EUR/BRL fell 0.92% to 3.3705.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.16% at 99.69.
