Investing.com – Brazil equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Financials, Real Estate and Electric Power sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa rose 0.77% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Gerdau SA (SA:GGBR4), which rose 3.87% or 0.36 points to trade at 9.67 at the close. Bradespar SA (SA:BRAP4) added 3.35% or 0.35 points to end at 10.80 and Marfrig Alimentos SA (SA:MRFG3) was up 3.11% or 0.17 points to 5.63 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Klabin Unt (SA:KLBN11), which lost 3.37% or 0.58 points to trade at 16.64 in late trade. Suzano Papel e Celulose SA (SA:SUZB5) declined 2.79% or 0.30 points to end at 10.45 and Fibria Celulose SA (SA:FIBR3) shed 2.43% or 0.57 points to 22.90.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 187 to 147 and 28 ended unchanged on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 2.28% to 34.22.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.44% or 5.55 to $1258.55 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 1.63% or 0.82 to hit $49.62 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract rose 1.11% or 1.62 to trade at $147.85 .
USD/BRL was down 0.33% to 3.2169, while EUR/BRL rose 0.10% to 3.6035.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.14% at 96.52.
