Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Utilities, Technology and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 lost 1.02%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Montepio (LS:MPIO), which rose 5.72% or 0.025 points to trade at 0.462 at the close. Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) added 2.01% or 0.0150 points to end at 0.7630 and Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) was up 1.34% or 0.0021 points to 0.1590 in late trade.
Biggest losers included EDP (LS:EDP), which lost 3.70% or 0.1080 points to trade at 2.8100 in late trade. Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) declined 3.35% or 0.1860 points to end at 5.3640 and REN (LS:RENE) shed 1.57% or 0.0420 points to 2.6350.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 18 to 16 and 8 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for May delivery was up 1.00% or 0.55 to $55.63 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 1.10% or 0.58 to hit $53.19 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.51% or 6.25 to trade at $1226.65 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.50% to 1.0559, while EUR/GBP rose 0.60% to 0.8618.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.27% at 101.88.
