Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Materials, Telecoms Services and Healthcare sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC lost 0.11%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Controladora Comercial Mexicana UBC (MX:COMEUBC), which rose 2.23% or 1.100 points to trade at 50.490 at the close. Meanwhile, Alsea , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALSEA) added 2.22% or 1.310 points to end at 60.350 and El Puerto De Liverpool Sab De CV (MX:LIVEPOLC1) was up 1.90% or 4.360 points to 233.930 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Empresas ICA , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICA), which fell 3.20% or 0.190 points to trade at 5.750 at the close. Grupo Financiero Banorte (MX:GFNORTEO) declined 1.55% or 1.450 points to end at 92.390 and Wal - Mart De Mexico, SAB De CV (MX:WALMEX) was down 1.48% or 0.680 points to 45.370.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 85 to 71 and 11 ended unchanged.
Shares in Empresas ICA, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICA) fell to 5-year lows; down 3.20% or 0.190 to 5.750. Shares in Alsea, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALSEA) rose to all time highs; up 2.22% or 1.310 to 60.350.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.86% or 9.30 to $1067.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.21% or 0.09 to hit $41.81 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.54% or 0.24 to trade at $44.90 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.06% to 16.5576, while EUR/MXN fell 0.11% to 17.5962.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.21% at 99.86.
