Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Services, Insurance and Banking sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Dubai, the DFM General lost 1.44% to hit a new 6-months low, while the ADX General index lost 0.51%.

The best performers of the session on the DFM General were AJMAN BANK PJSC (DU:AJBNK), which rose 9.09% or 0.150 points to trade at 1.800 at the close. Meanwhile, Dubai Financial Market PJSC (DU:DFM) added 4.03% or 0.060 points to end at 1.550 and Emirate Integrated Telecom Co PJSC (DU:DU) was up 2.25% or 0.110 points to 4.990 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Dubai Islamic Insurance Co. (DU:AMAN), which fell 10.00% or 0.062 points to trade at 0.558 at the close. SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA) declined 9.05% or 0.045 points to end at 0.452 and Deyaar Development PJSC (DU:DEYR) was down 6.07% or 0.040 points to 0.619.

The top performers on the ADX General were Aldar Properti (AD:ALDR) which rose 3.40% to 2.13, Agthia Group (AD:AGTH) which was up 2.64% to settle at 7.39 and Natl Co Bldg M (AD:BILD) which gained 1.92% to close at 0.530.

The worst performers were Union Cement (AD:UCC) which was down 10.00% to 0.99 in late trade, Ad Shipbldg Co (AD:ADSB) which lost 10.00% to settle at 3.33 and Methaq (AD:METH) which was down 9.89% to 0.820 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 23 to 5; on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, 19 fell and 8 advanced, while 2 ended unchanged.

Shares in Dubai Islamic Insurance Co. (DU:AMAN) fell to 3-years lows; losing 10.00% or 0.062 to 0.558. Shares in SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA) fell to 3-years lows; falling 9.05% or 0.045 to 0.452. Shares in Union Cement (AD:UCC) fell to 52-week lows; losing 10.00% or 0.11 to 0.99.

Crude oil for October delivery was down 3.57% or 1.45 to $39.01 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 3.76% or 1.71 to hit $43.75 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.50% or 5.80 to trade at $1153.80 a troy ounce.

USD/AED was unchanged 0.00% to 3.6731, while EUR/AED rose 0.88% to 4.2185.

The US Dollar Index was down 0.73% at 94.15.
