Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Energy, Chemicals and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 rose 1.17%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were mBank (WA:MBK), which rose 4.59% or 19.50 points to trade at 444.00 at the close. LPP SA (WA:LPPP) added 4.56% or 289.85 points to end at 6650.00 and CCC SA (WA:CCCP) was up 4.11% or 8.70 points to 220.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR), which lost 4.80% or 3.19 points to trade at 63.30 in late trade. Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW) declined 2.73% or 1.89 points to end at 67.31 and Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP) shed 0.96% or 0.49 points to 50.64.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 294 to 226 and 182 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 1.55% or 0.75 to $47.61 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 1.40% or 0.71 to hit $49.92 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.68% or 8.61 to trade at $1275.61 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.17% to 4.1859, while USD/PLN fell 0.67% to 3.7142.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.45% at 96.72.
