Investing.com – Finland equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Utilities, Technology and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 declined 0.65%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Kesko Oyj B (HE:KESBV), which rose 1.42% or 0.51 points to trade at 36.54 at the close. Neste Oil Oyj (HE:NESTE) added 1.09% or 0.33 points to end at 30.62 and Tieto Oyj (HE:TIE1V) was up 0.04% or 0.01 points to 24.66 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V), which lost 5.43% or 0.190 points to trade at 3.312 in late trade. Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V) declined 3.78% or 0.1420 points to end at 3.6180 and Metso Oyj (HE:MEO1V) shed 1.66% or 0.35 points to 20.76.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 129 to 51 and 12 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for August delivery was down 0.30% or 0.15 to $49.74 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.51% or 0.25 to hit $48.85 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.64% or 7.85 to trade at $1209.65 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.32% to 1.1168, while EUR/GBP rose 1.06% to 0.7752.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.30% at 95.54.
