Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Industrials and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 2.15%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which rose 6.15% or 0.0011 points to trade at 0.0190 at the close. Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) added 5.74% or 0.1640 points to end at 3.0210 and Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) was up 5.51% or 0.0070 points to 0.1340 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC), which lost 4.92% or 0.0290 points to trade at 0.5610 in late trade. Montepio (LS:MPIO) declined 4.80% or 0.026 points to end at 0.516 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) shed 0.20% or 0.0150 points to 7.5010.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 39 to 7 and 8 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for August delivery was up 3.37% or 1.59 to $48.78 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 3.01% or 1.39 to hit $47.60 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.40% or 5.15 to trade at $1293.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.40% to 1.1271, while EUR/GBP fell 0.39% to 0.7873.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.43% at 94.36.
