Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Information Technology, Investment Trust and Trading sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 1.46%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Sinhaputhra Finance PLC (CM:SFL), which rose 23.42% or 2.60 points to trade at 13.70 at the close. Alufab PLC (CM:ALUF) added 23.40% or 5.50 points to end at 29.00 and Bimputh Finance PLC (CM:BIMP) was up 22.92% or 6.90 points to 37.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kalamazoo Systems PLC (CM:KZOO), which lost 23.08% or 600.10 points to trade at 2000.00 in late trade. Central Investments and Finance PLC (CM:CIFL) declined 20.00% or 0.100 points to end at 0.400 and Bansei Royal Resorts Hikkaduwa Limited (CM:BANS) shed 16.47% or 1.40 points to 7.10.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 165 to 34 and 27 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was down 1.07% or 0.41 to $37.88 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 1.39% or 0.57 to hit $40.50 a barrel, while the April Gold contract fell 0.79% or 9.90 to trade at $1247.50 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.26% to 205.685, while USD/LKR fell 0.10% to 144.830.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.09% at 97.28.
