Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the S&P Lima Juniors, Services and Electricity sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General gained 0.16% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Edelnor (LM:EDN), which rose 1.60% or 0.090 points to trade at 5.700 at the close. Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb) added 1.47% or 0.010 points to end at 0.690 and Cerro Verde (LM:CVE) was up 1.05% or 0.200 points to 19.200 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi), which lost 3.03% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.640 in late trade. Inretail Peru (LM:INR) declined 2.78% or 0.500 points to end at 17.500 and Casa Grande (LM:CSG) shed 2.16% or 0.150 points to 6.800.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 14 to 12 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 1.09% or 0.50 to $45.44 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.09% or 0.04 to hit $46.71 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.22% or 2.90 to trade at $1332.20 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.2826, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.6287.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.52% at 97.06.
