Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Support Services, Oil & Gas and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX rose 2.70%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Randstad (AS:RAND), which rose 6.90% or 3.70 points to trade at 57.32 at the close. Meanwhile, Royal Dutch Shell A (AS:RDSa) added 3.35% or 0.76 points to end at 23.32 and Aegon (AS:AEGN) was up 3.32% or 0.169 points to 5.262 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were TNT Express (AS:TNTE), which fell 0.09% or 0.007 points to trade at 7.677 at the close. Gemalto (AS:GTO) added 1.35% or 0.78 points to end at 58.50 and Boskalis Westmin (AS:BOSN) was up 1.42% or 0.58 points to 41.55.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 152 to 22 and 5 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 7.90% to 22.97.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 2.23% or 0.93 to $40.81 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 1.67% or 0.74 to hit $43.81 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 1.50% or 16.30 to trade at $1067.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.41% to 1.0643, while EUR/GBP fell 0.53% to 0.6993.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.27% at 99.74.
