Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Construction, Telecoms and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite fell 0.05%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Greek Organisation of Football Prognostics SA (AT:OPAr), which rose 7.24% or 0.550 points to trade at 8.150 at the close. Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr) added 4.24% or 0.007 points to end at 0.172 and Quest Holdings (AT:IQTr) was up 3.53% or 0.180 points to 5.280 in late trade.
Biggest losers included National Bank of Greece (AT:NBGr), which lost 5.56% or 0.01 points to trade at 0.17 in late trade. Flexopack SA (AT:FLXr) declined 5.17% or 0.1500 points to end at 2.7500 and Public Power (AT:DEHr) shed 3.41% or 0.10 points to 2.83.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 60 to 33 and 19 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 1.41% or 18.15 to $1306.15 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 3.02% or 1.41 to hit $45.26 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 2.95% or 1.42 to trade at $46.72 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.56% to 1.1118, while EUR/GBP fell 0.04% to 0.9027.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.55% at 97.22.
