Investing.com – Philippines equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Services, Banking & Financials and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite added 0.63%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were PLDT Inc (PS:TEL), which rose 3.15% or 57.00 points to trade at 1869.00 at the close. Alliance Global Group Inc (PS:AGI) added 2.45% or 0.400 points to end at 16.700 and Metropolitan Bank and Trust Co (PS:MBT) was up 2.27% or 1.90 points to 85.60 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Globe Telecom Inc (PS:GLO), which lost 1.69% or 34.000 points to trade at 1976.000 in late trade. Semirara Mining Corp (PS:SCC) declined 1.41% or 1.6000 points to end at 111.5000 and Bank of the Philippine Islands (PS:BPI) shed 0.85% or 0.90 points to 105.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 93 to 85 and 50 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.27% or 3.60 to $1352.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 2.02% or 0.92 to hit $46.42 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 1.73% or 0.83 to trade at $48.81 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was up 0.39% to 7.0344, while USD/PHP rose 0.32% to 46.855.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.26% at 94.70.
