Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Chemicals and Construction sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 0.27% to hit a new 52-week low.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (WA:PGE), which rose 2.92% or 0.45 points to trade at 15.86 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupa Lotos SA (WA:LTSP) added 2.67% or 0.85 points to end at 32.70 and Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE) was up 2.21% or 0.07 points to 3.24 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH), which fell 3.98% or 3.59 points to trade at 86.60 at the close. Lubelski Wegiel Bogdanka SA (WA:LWBP) declined 3.41% or 1.79 points to end at 50.71 and Bank Handlowy w Warszawie SA (WA:BHW) was down 3.08% or 2.82 points to 88.77.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 297 to 238 and 114 ended unchanged.
Shares in KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH) fell to 3-years lows; down 3.98% or 3.59 to 86.60.
Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.80% or 0.34 to $42.75 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.15% or 0.07 to hit $48.66 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.27% or 3.00 to trade at $1115.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.03% to 4.1642, while USD/PLN rose 0.42% to 3.7769.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.22% at 97.05.
