Investing.com – Peru equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the S&P Lima Juniors, Mining and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General declined 1.70% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Edegel (LM:EDE), which rose 2.17% or 0.050 points to trade at 2.350 at the close. Panoro (LM:PML) added 0.83% or 0.001 points to end at 0.121 and Backus Johnsto (LM:BKJi) was up 0.67% or 0.100 points to 15.100 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Candente Copper (LM:DNT), which lost 17.50% or 0.0140 points to trade at 0.0660 in late trade. Trevali Mining (LM:TV) declined 10.00% or 0.100 points to end at 0.900 and Grana Y Monter (LM:GRA) shed 6.06% or 0.100 points to 1.550.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 20 to 3 and 11 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was up 0.21% or 0.10 to $48.50 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May rose 0.06% or 0.03 to hit $51.69 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.38% or 4.60 to trade at $1198.50 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was down 0.15% to 3.2795, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.4938.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.36% at 101.62.
