Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Media, Oil & Gas and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite declined 0.47%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Autohellas (AT:AUTr), which rose 3.70% or 0.50 points to trade at 14.19 at the close. Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) added 3.29% or 0.005 points to end at 0.157 and Grivalia Properties REIC (AT:GRIr) was up 3.23% or 0.25 points to 8.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr), which lost 9.55% or 0.0170 points to trade at 0.1610 in late trade. Motor Oil Hellas Corinth Refineries SA (AT:MORr) declined 4.12% or 0.67 points to end at 15.58 and Athens Medical (AT:AMCr) shed 3.62% or 0.029 points to 0.771.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 49 to 42 and 28 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.21% or 2.65 to $1249.15 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 1.41% or 0.68 to hit $47.56 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 1.49% or 0.76 to trade at $50.20 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.04% to 1.0806, while EUR/GBP rose 0.01% to 0.8664.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.09% at 99.46.
