Proactive Investors - Salesforce Inc is working with OpenAi to bring the wildly popular artificial intelligence chatbot to workplace communication software Slack, the company announced.
The San Francisco-based company is calling the technology EinsteinGPT, which would combine its own proprietary AI with outside patterns including OpenAI. The goal is to help users generate email drafts, customer-account information, computer code summaries of conversations and more.
Businesses are asking for generative AI technology, according to Salesforce general manager Clara Shih. Salesforce’s technology would help companies “completely reimagine how they engage with their customers,” she said at a press briefing.
Salesforce shares improved 0.7% to $185.04 on Tuesday morning.
The company isn’t alone in embracing generative AI.
Last month, Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) launched a ChatGPT-powered version of its search engine Bing on the Windows 11 platform, making Windows the only operating system to have an AI-powered search engine.
Technology from OpenAI can also generate meeting notes in Microsoft Teams, a competitor to Salesforce’s Slack.
