Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Mining, Banking & Financials and Food & Beverages sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General gained 0.97% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Trevali Mining (LM:TV), which rose 7.22% or 0.070 points to trade at 1.040 at the close. Sider (LM:SID) added 3.65% or 0.013 points to end at 0.369 and Cerro Verde (LM:CVE) was up 3.61% or 0.850 points to 24.400 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi), which lost 1.85% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.530 in late trade. Cem Pacasmayo (LM:CPA) declined 1.55% or 0.100 points to end at 6.350 and Edegel (LM:EDE) shed 1.11% or 0.030 points to 2.680.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 19 to 4 and 13 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was up 1.49% or 0.79 to $53.79 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 1.78% or 0.99 to hit $56.62 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.16% or 1.95 to trade at $1234.85 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was down 0.41% to 3.2540, while EUR/PEN fell 0.84% to 3.4627.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 100.77.
