Investing.com – Brazil equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Financials, Real Estate and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa fell 1.01% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were ALL America Latina Logistica SA (SA:RUMO3), which rose 5.33% or 0.240 points to trade at 4.740 at the close. Fibria Celulose SA (SA:FIBR3) added 5.03% or 1.60 points to end at 33.40 and Cia Energetica de Minas Gerais (SA:CMIG4) was up 3.87% or 0.21 points to 5.63 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Bradesco SA (SA:BBDC4), which lost 5.00% or 1.20 points to trade at 22.80 in late trade. Estacio Participacoes SA (SA:ESTC3) declined 4.74% or 0.54 points to end at 10.86 and Petroleo Brasileiro SA (SA:PETR4) shed 4.06% or 0.34 points to 8.04.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 165 to 147 and 31 ended unchanged on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 1.17% to 40.49.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was up 0.11% or 1.30 to $1218.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.83% or 0.41 to hit $48.92 a barrel, while the July US coffee C contract rose 0.26% or 0.32 to trade at $121.60 .
USD/BRL was up 0.94% to 3.6058, while EUR/BRL rose 0.94% to 4.0142.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.13% at 95.84.
