According to a Chinese regulatory body, Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA) will issue software updates for more than 435,000 vehicles in China to fix an issue with side marker lights that could in extreme circumstances lead to a collision. The fix, which counts as a recall, covers 142,277 Model 3 cars and 292,855 Model Ys. The cars to be recalled are at risk of light failures due to software issues, according to the Chinese regulator.

Tesla will remotely update the cars' software through over-the-air technology and the company will contact owners of cars whose software systems can't be updated remotely.

The electric vehicle giant also recalled more than 80,000 Model S, Model X and Model 3 cars last week in China for software and seat belt issues.

Shares of TSLA are up 0.80% in pre-market trading on Thursday.
