Investing.com – U.K. equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Real Estate Investment Trusts REITs, Real Estate and Automobiles & Parts sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 added 0.14%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Ocado Group PLC (LON:OCDO), which rose 4.82% or 21.00 points to trade at 456.80 at the close. EasyJet PLC (LON:EZJ) added 4.65% or 13.60 points to end at 306.30 and Segro Plc (LON:SGRO) was up 3.88% or 27.60 points to 739.40 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Fresnillo PLC (LON:FRES), which lost 3.57% or 26.00 points to trade at 702.20 in late trade. BAE Systems PLC (LON:BAES) declined 3.51% or 28.80 points to end at 790.80 and Rio Tinto PLC (LON:RIO) shed 2.59% or 126.50 points to 4,751.50.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 1161 to 634 and 447 ended unchanged on the London Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.74% or 29.15 to $1,647.85 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 4.15% or 3.70 to hit $85.41 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 3.31% or 3.13 to trade at $91.44 a barrel.
GBP/USD was down 1.42% to 1.12, while EUR/GBP rose 0.89% to 0.87.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.87% at 113.23.
