June 5 (Reuters) - Stock futures pointed to a lower opening for Canada's main stock index on Monday as oil prices fell following a diplomatic rift between some of the world's major energy producers in the Middle East.

Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain severed their ties with Qatar, accusing the country of supporting terrorism and opening up the worst rift in years among some of the most powerful states in the Arab world. prices gave up gains and traded down over concerns that the development could affect a global deal to reduce oil production. futures on the S&P TSX index SXFc1 were down 0.10 percent at 7:15 a.m. ET.

Canada's main stock index fell on Friday, dragged lower by weakness in energy stocks as oil prices fell and a modest dip in heavyweight financial shares after U.S. jobs growth came in below expectations. Jones Industrial Average e-mini futures 1YMc1 were down 0.09 percent at 7:15 a.m. ET. S&P 500 e-mini futures ESc1 were down 0.11 percent and Nasdaq 100 e-mini futures NQc1 were down 0.11 percent. .N
