Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Chemicals, Construction and Energy sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 declined 2.27% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were ING Bank Śląski SA (WA:INGP), which rose 2.46% or 2.95 points to trade at 123.00 at the close. Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN) added 0.27% or 0.18 points to end at 67.61 and Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER) was up 0.16% or 0.08 points to 49.58 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP), which lost 7.76% or 5.77 points to trade at 68.63 in late trade. Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE) declined 5.86% or 0.150 points to end at 2.410 and Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN) shed 5.11% or 0.26 points to 4.83.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 373 to 116 and 168 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 3.60% or 1.73 to $46.28 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 3.61% or 1.77 to hit $47.20 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 1.66% or 21.35 to trade at $1309.65 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.03% to 4.4285, while USD/PLN rose 0.95% to 3.9695.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.69% at 95.32.
