Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Information Technology, Technology and Textile & Leather sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 0.20%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Netas Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:NETAS), which rose 13.95% or 1.62 points to trade at 13.23 at the close. Galatasaray Sportif Sinai ve Ticari Yatirimlar AS (IS:GSRAY) added 4.97% or 1.50 points to end at 31.70 and Kordsa Global Endustriyel Iplik ve Kord Bezi Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:KORDS) was up 3.55% or 0.31 points to 9.04 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kardemir Karabuk Demir Celik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS Class D (IS:KRDMD), which lost 3.85% or 0.060 points to trade at 1.500 in late trade. Halk Gayrimenkul Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:HLGYO) declined 2.75% or 0.030 points to end at 1.060 and Konya Cimento Sanayi AS (IS:KONYA) shed 2.56% or 6.90 points to 263.10.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 180 to 174 and 54 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.42% or 5.28 to $1267.38 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 2.72% or 1.35 to hit $48.31 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 2.76% or 1.44 to trade at $50.80 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.49% to 3.5316, while EUR/TRY fell 0.04% to 3.9693.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.32% at 96.91.
