We encourage you to use comments to engage with users, share your perspective and ask questions of authors and each other. However, in order to maintain the high level of discourse we’ve all come to value and expect, please keep the following criteria in mind:

  • Enrich the conversation
  • Stay focused and on track. Only post material that’s relevant to the topic being discussed.

Although the Dollar Index (as viewed on the daily chart) has risen from 92.50 to around 95.35, candlestick patterns suggest the move upwards has paused. It is a shame that https://investing.com is unable to show underlying volume of trading on this index. Without this, all we can say is that it appears to be stuck on a downward trend, extending over 4 months. If it breaks out on the high side we can expect gold prices to fall as a result.
